Is the War Affecting American Unemployment?

The invasion of Ukraine by Russia, which has turned into a legitimate war in parts of Europe, has had massive global implications. The war is so powerful, in fact, that it is said by America's elite class to be the reason for the ever-rising cost of living since early 2021 last year. Now, that's a powerful war! Any conflict that can create a time machine is indeed dangerous! All joking aside, it is a fact that many in America blame the country's woes on Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and some have even pointed to unemployment and have claimed that it's Russia's fault that so many Americans are unemployed now. Unlike high oil prices in 2021 being the fault of Russia in 2022, however, there may actually be validity to the claims that the war is negatively impacting employment in America.
You first have to consider that America's massive economy is global. More than a few businesses have closed down as a result of the conflict. Many have closed down because they're owned by Russians and they are now considered toxic people in society. There are reports all over America of Russian restaurants and boutiques and other businesses being vandalized and picketed, so they've been forced to close, and all of their employees are now unemployed. So this is a real thing that's impacting a lot of Americans and the employment rate in general.
A Tale of a Revolving Stat
Though in order to claim that the war in Ukraine is negatively affecting America's unemployment, you'd first have to get people in America to admit that there's an unemployment problem. Never mind a labor shortage of millions of employees; according to Joe Biden and the corporate media, America's unemployment is at an all-time low. They only count jobless claims for these numbers, and so a lot can go into keeping those claims low. Suffice to say, the claims are actually low, but is America's unemployment rate really low?
The story revolves around 180 degrees any time someone credits Trump-era policies or the Republicans with better economic performance. Then all of those "we're doing great" stories instantly turn to "We're really in trouble in this economy." So it's hard to get a reading in public on how things are going.
America the Resilient
Of all the nations on this planet, America may have been through some of the toughest financial collapses, even though it's relatively young. Of course, no one is saying that America has had it harder; just that it's been up there with the worst. Zimbabwe's crash and the hell that was wrought in Ukraine on the back of the Kulaks incident, etc; these top the list, for sure. Though the Great Depression and the housing market collapse were also up there, due to America's enormous economy. The moral of the story here is that America seems to bounce back from these things. The real issue now in getting America's unemployment to truly rebound is in admitting that there's a problem. When the truth is spoken about the situation and accurate numbers given, historically is the case that thousands of businesses go out of their way to hire more. It's one of those things colloquially known as the "American spirit."
However, for the past year in America, its current government officials have decided that it's much better for their chances of re-election to withhold the real numbers from the American public. Working in conjunction with America's mass corporate media, the lie told to the people is that America's unemployment rate is literally at an all-time low, and this is specifically meant to make Donald Trump look bad. "Look at how great President Joe Biden is for the economy," they shout at you, while you can barely afford gas and have to eliminate meals from your diet to be able to afford groceries. But, despite there being a labor shortage of epic proportions, you're told that America has its lowest unemployment numbers in the history of the country.
This is what's making it harder for the market to bounce back, because so much of the market is driven by overall attitude in the country, and that attitude is being manipulated entirely by corporate mass media and social media, where the running line is that things are better than ever.
American jobs are going to bounce back. The country will get over its labor shortage. Though if Americans could get some honesty about where the market stands, unemployment would bounce back a lot quicker.
